We offer services which help organisations to transform their performance in governance and risk. These issues are too important to approach with enthusiastic amateurism. Based on extensive knowledge and research, we bring professional understanding and insights to our clients to increase their awareness, capabilities and performance in governance and risk.
At Paradigm Risk, we focus on strategic risk, governance and the impact of risk and uncertainty on the strategy and performance of the firm. We help firms to understand their risk in strategic terms and their strategies in terms of the potential impact of risk and uncertainty and what to do about it. We help firms to balance the regulatory demands they face for risk management with the commercial requirements of developing and executing strategy and managing risk and uncertainty.
Far too many firms address risk primarily through a regulatory lens, rather than being a fundamental strategic issue. We work with firms to refocus their risk lens to ensure they are approaching risk and uncertainty as strategic and operational challenges that are con- strained by regulatory requirements, rather than dictated by those requirements; the difference is enormous.
To approach risk and uncertainty strategically, firms require a set of skills and capabilities that depend on the human capabilities in their firm; we can help here too, with training courses that support our focus and, where necessary, through assisting the firm to find and select people who have those skills and capabilities. We can also support firms to un- derstand the role of risk and uncertainty in their technical modelling and their information and data requirements to ensure the firm can ‘walk the walk’ for commercial and supervisory purposes.
Approaching risk strategically is not something a financial services firm can, or should, try to avoid. We can help firms to make it a focus and a strength. And that drives performance.
